The six-act epic of music and painting "Secret Qinghai" is a ‘music and painting epic’ with the Tibetan Plateau and Kunlun Mountains as the regional background, the ancient Chinese mythology as the cultural basis, and the goddess Xi Wangmu as the core of the story; this highly symbolic fable, by explaining the profound and subtle relationship between man and God, and between man and nature. This allegorical story proclaims the Eastern cultural spirit and contemporary social development concept of unity between heaven and man, and harmony among humans. The goddess Xi Wang Mu illuminate’s history with her great love and sacrificial spirit full of the brilliance of humanity, and has been admired and praised for generations for her image of supreme goodness and beauty. Therefore, this play is a manifestation of goodness, an affirmation of love, and a Celebration to beauty. This is a cultural journey of the Eastern gods from the top of history to the glory of the world.
Seminar of the large-scale audio-painting, song and dance epic "Secret Qinghai" was held in Beijing
The seminar of the large-scale audio-visual song and dance epic "Secret Qinghai", co-sponsored by China Culture Daily and Literature and Arts Daily, was held in National Museum of Modern Chinese Literature on Feb. 22. Drama critics, dance critics, literature critics in Beijing, journalists from China News Agency, People's Daily, Guangming Daily, China Arts Daily, Economic Daily, Beijing Evening News, Cultural Communication Network and many other media, the creators of "Secret Qinghai" and someone in charge of relevant units in Qinghai province attended the seminar. Vice Governor Jidi Majia attended the seminar and made a speech.
Vice Governor Jidi Majia said in his speech that this program is a long-awaited event for Qinghai. For many years Qinghai has been trying to create a work that represents the level of Qinghai, and now finally the dream has come true. Qinghai is the birthplace of Kunlun culture, and there is not only the legend of Xi Wangmu, but also many historical relics in Qinghai. Now the myth of Kunlun and Xi Wangmu are put on the stage, showing the long-standing national culture of Qinghai, and becoming the cultural symbol of this high land. Through this show, we want to show the diverse culture and rich history of Qinghai to the audience, so that people can enter Qinghai and understand it.
At the seminar, Hu Xuehua, the director of "Secret Qinghai", introduced the creation process on behalf of the creators of the show. Feng Shuangbai, vice chairman of China Dance Association, Xu Xiaozhong, a famous drama director, Tong Daoming, a senior theater critic and other experts and scholars spoke one after another, explaining the value and significance of the play from different angles. The experts unanimously agreed that "Secret Qinghai" is a stage play with "poetic meaning" and is a stage play with great characteristics and personality. Both from the intention and stage performance have given a surprise to everyone. From an ideological point of view, it has a lofty intention, it combines the magnificent and splendid part of Qinghai's national culture with the spiritual pursuit that is a common concern today, embodies epic grandeur and rational thinking of modern philosophy. In terms of art, this epic of music, painting, song and dance is mysterious in imagery and rich in artistic means. It combines theater, film, dance, music, poetry, multimedia and other art forms in an all-round and multi-level way, presenting an innovative stage effect. In terms of content, it expounds the ancient mythology with modern spirit and concept, is a retrospective of national culture, and reflects the respect and praise of national traditional culture.
During the seminar, experts and scholars put forward many constructive opinions and suggestions on this program, which have positive significance for further improving "Secret Qinghai". They believe that traditional Qinghai cultural symbols and dance language should be used more abundantly, so that tradition and modernity can reach a perfect match. The depiction of the power of conflict, wreak havoc and destruction should be enhanced to set off the mood of harmony, tranquility and happiness. The experts sincerely hope that after processing, revising, improving and perfecting, "Secret Qinghai" will not only become a preserved play representing the level of Qinghai's singing and dancing performance, but also a Epoch-making works that will stay and spread.
